The Nakamoto Consensus is a brilliantly constructed thriller, deliciously packed with intrigue and suspense. Centered around the (real) disappearance of Satoshi Nakamoto, it’s classic spy fiction, with the protagonist having to fight off baddies to save his father; and the father of Bitcoin. The pace, and the reader's heartbeat, start fast and do not let up. It grabbed me right from the start. Surprisingly, one of the things I most enjoyed about the book were the explicit fight scenes. Nell writes from such a realistic body perspective that, although I normally don’t enjoy physical combat, I felt part of the action and was drawn into the intensity and tension of each moment.

Nell does not just spin an engrossing tail. This well researched, intelligently written adventure seeks to lift the curtain around cryptocurrency. He explains the humanitarian philosophy of Bitcoin and exposes the danger in allowing our currencies to be controlled by morally incongruous, power-hungry, and incompetent political leaders. Very fast moving, intelligent and eminently engrossing, The Nakamoto Consensus may be a first novel, but it has the plot and suspense of a master. Read this book!

about the author

Nicholas Nell is a father, healthcare practitioner, strength coach, martial artist and Bitcoiner. I have been a Bitcoiner my whole life, but had to wait for 2016 to discover it. Through thousands of connected interactions with people trying to be better and healthier I have acquired deep skills in facilitating healing, fostering care and inspiring people to be better humans.

These skills span acupuncture, herbal and homeopathic care, kettlebell, aikido, Katori Shinto Ryu, Goju Ryu, Jiu Jitsu, olympic lifting, trail running, parenting, and Bitcoin. I employ all of them to help people discover greater aliveness and vitality. I have used my three decades of successful practice, coaching and learning to imbue my writing with passion, insight and purpose. I thrive on using my investigation into life and meaning to help people find wisdom that is sometimes missed in the profusion of information. Nowhere has this been more important than partnering my wife in raising our four daughters to be strong and capable women.
